About Me

My name is Oleksandr Prokhorenko, and I’m a software engineer who enjoys turning ideas into tangible, impactful products. What motivates me most is creating technology and products that genuinely improve people’s lives.

Over the years, I’ve worked in both hands-on and leadership roles, guiding and supporting teams of varying sizes while remaining deeply involved in technical work. I enjoy helping teams grow, tackling hard problems together, and shaping systems that can evolve over time rather than just “ship and forget”.

Throughout my career, I’ve contributed to and led the development of award-winning products for global brands such as PepsiCo, Philip Morris International, Liberty Global, and Vorwerk, as well as for startups at very different stages of growth.

Technically, I’m most comfortable working close to the core of systems. I spend a lot of my time with backend, system programming and distributed systems with Rust, but I also have extensive experience building native, hybrid, and cross-platform applications with Dart/Flutter and Swift.

I’m particularly interested in peer-to-peer and decentralized systems. I’ve recently been exploring GPU programming with Mojo out of curiosity.

Several of my projects have earned prestigious industry recognition, including the Red Dot Award and Golden Drum. As a lifelong learner and open-source contributor, I continually explore emerging technologies and mentor fellow engineers.

When I’m not building software or working with a team, you’ll usually find me reading, spending time with family and friends, or making and playing electronic music.

If you’d like to collaborate, talk through a challenging technical problem, or just exchange ideas about software and systems, feel free to reach out.
