About
My name is Oleksandr Prokhorenko, and I'm a software engineer who enjoys turning ideas into tangible, impactful products. What motivates me most is creating technology that genuinely improves people's lives.
Over the years, I've worked in both hands-on and leadership roles — guiding teams of varying sizes while staying deeply involved in technical work. I enjoy helping teams grow, tackling hard problems together, and shaping systems that evolve rather than just "ship and forget."
Throughout my career, I've contributed to and led the development of award-winning products for global brands such as PepsiCo, Philip Morris International, Liberty Global, and Vorwerk, as well as for startups at very different stages of growth. Several projects have earned prestigious industry recognition, including the Red Dot Award and Golden Drum.
Technically, I'm most at home close to the core of systems. I spend a lot of my time with backend, systems programming, and distributed systems in Rust, and I also enjoy building native, hybrid, and cross-platform applications with Dart/Flutter, Swift, and related technologies. I've recently been exploring GPU programming with Mojo out of curiosity.
As a lifelong learner and open-source contributor, I continually explore emerging technologies and mentor fellow engineers.
When I'm not building software or working with a team, you'll find me reading, spending time with family and friends, or making and playing electronic music.
If you'd like to collaborate, talk through a challenging technical problem, or just exchange ideas about software and systems, feel free to reach out.
